I am trying to render out a file that has a layered texture on the character.

Right now the Node is a lambert, with a layered texture as its color, and two files in the layered texture layers. One for the body color and the second, which is on top is the mouth file.

When I render it out it looks like the bottom image in the attached link and I need it to look like the screen shot. Please let me know if you have any advice on how to fix this.

I thought it might have something to do with rendering it with the hardware vs. software but that doesn't seem to work at all. Thanks for the help.

you need to invert the alpha value of the mouth before you render.. there's a legacy problem with alpha channels connected to transparency where the hardware display shows it as you expect but the software renderer does the opposite. I think ti may have been addressed in newer version but I'm not sure what version of Maya is this?
