in max material editor it offer 24 sample shader balls .
but i found it it not engough for me i get a very complex file,
so does it possible it increase the sample number of the shader ball?

if you dont need to see all 24 materials at the same time simply select a material u dont want to see, click the green ball with the arrow on it (far left on material editor)...select the scene option...all your materials are there.....just double click the material you want to edit....it wont overwrite the material underneath...that will still be in your scene
remember the window u can see your textures in is the material EDITOR not the material list.....

Exactly. Those material slots are just storage areas. They don't show you ALL the materials in the scene. In fact, you can have lots of materials and just clear the material slots without affecting your scene.
