Full Version: Rotation Function Curves

Hi

Is there any particular reason that a function curve is not available for the rotation channel in the track view? I know that one has to use an ease curve on rotation channels, but I don't quite understand why? It is so much easier to change function curves for the channels in which it is available, as opposed to applying an ease curve & then still having to add the keyframes in at the relevant times.

Or am I misunderstanding something severely!

many thanks

The default rotation controller is TCB which doesn't have function curves. Assign an euler XYZ to it, and you will have them.

Hi Laszlo

Thanks very much for the info - don't know why I hadn't thought of that! You've saved me a whole lot of frustration! It is possible to change the default rotation in MAX, is it not? (I'm rendering right now, otherwise I'd check it out quickly!)

Many thanks

Yes it is. If you change the controller through the motion panel, there will be a Make Default button in the Controller List pop-up.
