I have a material function question:
Is there any way that I can access the alpha channel of an object through the material editor WITHOUT having to render out a series of alpha channel images???...I was hoping to be able to build this functionality into a material on a per object basis similar to the "FALLOFF" material type but accessing the alpha channel instead.
PURPOSE: I want to do an alpha channel erode to soften the edges of an object and perhaps pipe a slight noise back through to add variance.
