Whenever I draw a spline, I almost always and up having to pan or zoom the view while in the middle of the operation, yet in order to adjust the view, max needs to exit the operation, which leads to a serious pain in my ass. Is there something I'm missing? How is a person supposed to trace a huge, detailed logo (for instance) without losing one's mind?

Pressing the 'i' button during the operation centers the viewport around the mouse pointer. 'Interactive-pan' or whatever it is called.
